Narayani Hospital observes World Heart Day in Vellore
Sri Narayani Hospital and Research Centre (SNRC) in Vellore marked World Heart Day by launching a state-of-the-art heart-lung machine on its premises, underscoring efforts to strengthen advanced cardiac surgical care at the centre.
Facility launch and inauguration
According to a press release, the new heart-lung machine, valued at ₹3 crore, was commissioned as part of SNRC’s push to enhance infrastructure for complex cardiac procedures. The facility was inaugurated by Lynn Schneider, founder of the Lynn Schneider Foundation, New York, in the presence of Professor N. Balaji, director and trustee of the Sri Narayani Group of Institutions.
Strengthening cardiac care capabilities
The hospital stated that the introduction of the machine is intended to bolster its advanced cardiac surgical services. The investment aligns with the centre’s broader efforts to expand access to high-end cardiac care within the region, the release added.
Blood donation drive marks National Voluntary Blood Donation Day
In conjunction with the World Heart Day programme, SNRC also observed National Voluntary Blood Donation Day at the Sri Narayani Blood Centre. Volunteers, hospital staff and students from various colleges participated in the blood donation drive, reflecting a strong show of voluntary service and social responsibility, the release said.
The events highlighted both a clinical upgrade at the hospital and a community-focused initiative aimed at supporting patient care.
