Voters will teach TVK candidates a befitting lesson: EPS
AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Sunday said voters in the Dharapuram (SC) and Madurantakam (SC) Assembly constituencies would deliver a “befitting lesson” to the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) candidates when they go to the polls on Tuesday.
Byelections in two constituencies on Tuesday
The remarks come ahead of Tuesday’s byelections in Dharapuram (SC) and Madurantakam (SC). In a statement, Mr. Palaniswami framed the contests as a test of voter awareness and party loyalty, targeting the TVK nominees in both seats.
‘People are aware’
“People are aware that the TVK cadre are trying to deceive them and get votes. It is certain that voters in these two constituencies would teach a befitting lesson to these two TVK candidates, who had betrayed the AIADMK,” Mr. Palaniswami said in his statement.
Allegations against TVK candidates
Reiterating his charge of “betrayal,” Mr. Palaniswami accused the TVK candidates of seeking support through deceptive means and urged voters in both constituencies to reject them. He maintained that the electorate would respond decisively at the ballot box.
What’s next
Polling in the two Assembly segments is scheduled for Tuesday. Mr. Palaniswami’s statement sets the tone for the final phase of campaigning, with the AIADMK chief signaling confidence that voters will side with his party over the TVK nominees.
The outcome in Dharapuram (SC) and Madurantakam (SC) will be closely watched as parties test their standing with voters in the bypolls.
