BJP leaders rally for Shashil Namoshi before Council polls

Leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday launched campaigning for BJP–JD(S) candidate Shashil G. Namoshi ahead of elections to the Karnataka Legislative Council’s North-East Teachers Constituency.

Former MLA Amarnath Patil, who led the outreach, told reporters that the Congress-led State government has neglected teachers and failed to take adequate steps to improve the education sector in the Kalyan Karnataka region, particularly in Yadgir and Kalaburagi districts.

Patil alleged that a large number of teacher vacancies remain unfilled across the region, which he said has contributed to poor results in the SSLC and II Pre-University examinations.

Pointing to Namoshi’s earlier tenure in the Council, Patil said the candidate consistently raised education issues, urging the State government to appoint qualified teachers and provide basic infrastructure in government schools and colleges.

He added that Namoshi would press for the effective implementation of Article 371(J) of the Constitution to ensure proper recruitment and timely promotions for government employees, including teaching staff.

Patil also highlighted what he described as development works undertaken by the Union government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying welfare schemes have benefited workers and marginalized communities. He expressed confidence that teacher voters would re-elect Namoshi.

BJP district president Basavaraj Veebhutihalli and leaders Sharanappa Talwar, Lalita Anpur, Rachanagouda Mudnal, Mahesh Reddy Mudnal, Devendra Nath Nad and Ameenreddy Yalagi were present.
