Visakhapatnam MP Sribharat: Quantum Computing to Create Jobs

Quantum computing to create more jobs, says Visakhapatnam MP M. Sribharat

Visakhapatnam MP M. Sribharat on Monday said quantum computing would open up more job opportunities for young people and urged students not to be anxious about the rapid emergence of new technologies. He was speaking as chief guest at a six-day technical conference, “Qiskit–Quantum computing,” organised by Centurion University of Technology and Management (CUTM) in Vizianagaram.

Focus on future-ready skills

Addressing students and faculty, Mr. Sribharat emphasised that developments in quantum technologies are poised to create significant avenues for employment. He said learners should approach these changes with confidence and a willingness to acquire the skills needed in high-growth sectors shaped by advanced computing.

State initiative to spur careers

The MP said the Quantum hub being developed at Amaravati under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu would help engineering students access new career opportunities. The initiative, he noted, is expected to strengthen pathways from education to employment by connecting academic training with emerging industry needs.

Industry–academia linkages highlighted

CUTM Vice-Chancellor P. K. Mohannty underlined the importance of deepening partnerships between industry and academia so that students can engage with cutting-edge technologies even before completing their courses. Such collaborations, he said, would enable graduates to be better prepared for roles in rapidly evolving technology domains, including quantum computing.

Participation from technology leaders

The event saw participation from industry and research figures including Qbit force Chief Executive Officer L. Venkata Subramanyam and senior quantum researcher Urvashi Singh. The conference was coordinated by Lakshmikanth Sutar, alongside faculty and student organisers from CUTM.

Conference setting

Hosted on the Vizianagaram campus, the six-day “Qiskit–Quantum computing” conference is designed to expose students to the concepts and applications of quantum computing. The sessions aim to encourage hands-on learning and provide insights into how quantum technologies are shaping future problem-solving approaches across sectors.

Significance

With the state’s proposed Quantum hub in Amaravati and universities convening technical conferences that bring academia and industry together, speakers said students stand to benefit from early exposure to emerging technologies and clearer pathways into new job roles. The emphasis throughout the inaugural session was on building confidence, capability and collaboration to meet the demands of a technology-driven job market.
