Deputy CM Vikramarka allocates ₹59.67 crore to modernize nine Madhira schools
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka announced that ₹59.67 crore has been sanctioned to modernize nine government schools in the Madhira Assembly constituency, with the goal of transforming them into model institutions equipped with requisite infrastructure and facilities. He made the announcement while chairing a review meeting with officials at Jamalapuram village in Yerrupalem mandal of Khammam district on Sunday.
Focus on school upgrades in Madhira
According to Mr. Vikramarka, the sanctioned funds will be used to develop comprehensive infrastructure in the identified schools so they can function as model campuses. He directed officials to expedite the execution of these works and ensure that the upgraded facilities are made available to students at the earliest.
Emphasizing timely delivery, the Deputy Chief Minister asked the departments concerned to remove procedural bottlenecks and keep the work on a fast track, noting that modernized school environments are essential for improving learning outcomes and student well-being.
Skilling initiative for women under MEPMA
In a parallel push for livelihoods, Mr. Vikramarka instructed officials to provide skill development training to around 10,000 women in Madhira town under the Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA). The training will focus on various self-employment activities designed to align with local demand.
He said such demand-driven skilling initiatives would help women become financially self-reliant, and called for structured training modules that can enable participants to quickly apply new skills to income-generating opportunities.
Directives on civic issues and service delivery
The Deputy Chief Minister also asked officials to address drinking water supply and other civic issues promptly to avoid inconvenience to residents. He stressed the importance of responsive delivery systems and urged departments to resolve public grievances without delay.
Foundation stones for local development works
Earlier in the day, Mr. Vikramarka laid foundation stones for development works worth ₹12.89 crore in Yerrupalem mandal. The projects include new blacktop (BT) roads and internal cement concrete (CC) roads across various villages, aimed at improving connectivity and local infrastructure.
Next steps
Following the review, officials were tasked with accelerating both the school modernization projects and the MEPMA skilling programmes, while concurrently addressing core civic needs in the area. The Deputy Chief Minister underscored the need for close coordination among departments to meet timelines and deliver tangible improvements on the ground.
Significance
The combined focus on education infrastructure, women’s livelihoods, and civic services reflects an integrated approach to local development in the Madhira constituency. The upgrade of nine government schools, alongside foundational works in Yerrupalem and expanded skill training for women, is expected to strengthen public infrastructure and promote socio-economic resilience in the region.
