Puducherry Chief Electoral Officer A.S.P.S. Ravi Prakash has announced a Special Summary Revision of the Union Territory’s Photo Electoral Rolls, with January 1, 2027 set as the qualifying date, and urged all eligible residents whose names are missing to submit applications for enrolment.
In a press release, the CEO said citizens who will be 18 years old on or before January 1, 2027 are eligible to apply with reference to that qualifying date. Advance applications may also be filed by those who will attain eligibility on April 1, July 1, or October 1, 2027.
Applications for inclusion of names can be submitted using Form 6, while overseas electors should apply through Form 6A. Form 7 may be used to file objections to proposed inclusions or to request deletions. Form 8 covers shifting of residence, correction or updating of entries, replacement of Elector Photo Identity Card (EPIC), and marking of Persons with Disabilities, as applicable.
The CEO encouraged electors to apply online via the Election Commission of India’s Voter Service Portal at https://voters.eci.gov.in or through the ECINET app. For assistance or any election-related queries, the public can contact the 1950 helpline.
The integrated draft electoral roll will be published on November 13. Citizens have been advised to verify their names and particulars thereafter and file claims or objections within the prescribed period. Rationalisation of polling stations will be undertaken in accordance with Election Commission instructions, the release said.
