The Women Empowerment Telugu Association (WETA) hosted Bathukamma and Dasara celebrations at Windemere Ranch Middle School in San Ramon, California, bringing together members of the Telugu community, The Hindu reported.
Telangana MLA from Kodad, N. Padmavathi Reddy, attended as chief guest, according to the report. Women made bathukammas—traditional floral arrangements—and gathered around them to sing songs, reflecting on life in Telangana before moving to the United States.
Congress leader and NRI Jhansi Reddy said the celebrations highlighted togetherness and the preservation of Telugu cultural traditions among the diaspora, The Hindu noted.
The programme included Mogudzpellamz, presented by Bobby and Chandu. The event was organised under WETA’s banner, which promotes women’s empowerment and Telugu cultural heritage in the United States.
