Kolkata Metro services on the North–South corridor were disrupted for about an hour on Monday evening, October 19, 2026, due to a technical glitch, officials said, according to The Hindu’s reporting.
The problem occurred around 5.31 p.m. at Mahanayak Uttam Kumar station in Tollygunge, prompting truncated operations in both directions between Maidan and Dakshineswar on the Blue Line, officials said.
The disruption coincided with Maha Ashtami during Durga Puja, when large numbers of people rely on the Metro to visit pandals across the city.
Metro authorities resolved the issue and restored services along the entire stretch of the North–South corridor at 6.23 p.m., officials added.
