E-commerce delivery agent assaulted in Karkhana; case registered
A 24-year-old delivery agent working with Zepto was allegedly assaulted by a customer in Karkhana on Saturday evening following an argument over the designated delivery location, police said. The incident occurred around 7 p.m. and left the delivery worker with a minor bleeding injury to his head. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
Dispute over delivery location
According to police, the delivery agent, identified as Ashish, went to deliver an order when the customer, Ajay Kumar, 35, asked him over the phone to come to a different location, stating that he was not at home. Ashish reportedly declined the request and asked the customer to contact him when he was available at the registered delivery address. A verbal altercation ensued between the two over the phone.
Altercation at customer’s residence
Police said that Ashish subsequently proceeded to the customer’s residence to complete the delivery. Another argument broke out at the location, during which the delivery agent was allegedly assaulted. He sustained a minor head injury that resulted in bleeding, officials said.
Complaints filed by both parties
Following the incident, both Ashish and Ajay Kumar went to the Karkhana police station and submitted complaints. Police registered a case in connection with the alleged assault. Specific sections under which the case was booked were not disclosed.
Investigation in progress
Officers said they are examining the sequence of events based on the complaints and other available information. No additional details on possible detentions or further action were immediately available.
