Army Havildar from Markapuram district killed in Arunachal Pradesh road accident

An Army Havildar from Markapuram district was killed in a road accident while serving in Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday, officials said. The soldier, identified as 35-year-old Kuvvarapu Kishan, hailed from Pandillapalli village in Bestavaripeta mandal of Markapuram district.

Background and identification

According to information received locally, Havildar Kishan had been posted in Arunachal Pradesh at the time of the accident. A native of Pandillapalli, he is remembered in his village as a committed serviceman whose life was closely tied to his family and community.

Repatriation of mortal remains

Following the accident, the Army coordinated the repatriation of his body. Kishan’s mortal remains were flown from Guwahati to Hyderabad on a special flight and then transported by road to his native village on Wednesday for final rites. He is survived by his parents, his wife, an infant son and a younger brother.

Leaders express condolences

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed grief over the death in a post on X, describing Havildar Kishan as “a brave son of our Andhra soil” and stating that his courageous service to the nation would always be remembered.

Information Technology Minister Nara Lokesh also conveyed his condolences and said he had learned that the soldier’s mortal remains had reached his native village.

Community mourning

The news of Havildar Kishan’s death has cast a pall over Pandillapalli and the surrounding areas of Bestavaripeta mandal, where residents and local leaders have joined the family in mourning the loss of the 35-year-old soldier.
