A student from Satara district in Maharashtra has taken the concept of “arriving in style” to new heights — literally. In a remarkable display of quick thinking and daring spirit, Samarth Mahangade, a resident of Pasarani Village in Wai taluka, used paragliding as a high-flying solution to dodge traffic and make it to his exam center on time. The jaw-dropping incident, which was caught on video, has since gone viral on social media.
The events unfolded when Samarth found himself in a traffic jam on the Wai-Panchgani road on the day of his exam. Realizing that he had just minutes left to reach his college, he decided to skip the conventional route and take to the skies. Wearing full paragliding gear, Samarth soared above the traffic, carrying his college bag with him. The video, shared by an Instagram user named ‘Insta_Satara’, shows him flying gracefully over the scenic landscapes of Satara before landing near his exam center, where he made an unforgettable entrance.
Reports indicate that Samarth had been in Panchgani for some personal work on the day of the exam. Aware of the heavy traffic that would likely ensnare him on the Wai-Panchgani road, he opted for a creative and adventurous solution — paragliding straight to his destination.
To make this daring flight possible, Samarth enlisted the help of adventure sports expert Govind Yewale and his team from GP Adventure, based in Panchgani. They ensured that the flight was both safe and smooth, with Samarth landing near his college just in time to take the exam.
The video quickly gained attention online, with social media users expressing their admiration for Samarth’s resourcefulness and quick decision-making. Many were left amazed by his bold approach, while others joked about the unusual “last-minute exam hack.” Some even praised the local paragliding community, which has become a hallmark of Satara’s adventure tourism.
Satara, known for its picturesque landscapes and favorable weather conditions, is a popular destination for adventure sports such as paragliding. However, this is the first time it has been used in such an unconventional way — to help a student beat the clock and make it to an exam on time.
While Samarth’s flight may have been extraordinary, it certainly highlights his ability to think on his feet and find a way to turn a stressful situation into an opportunity for adventure. The viral video has not only sparked laughter and admiration but also has people talking about the unique ways in which technology and adventure can sometimes intersect in unexpected situations.
Whether a marketing stunt or a spur-of-the-moment decision, Samarth’s airborne journey to his exam will surely go down in local history as a remarkable example of both ingenuity and adventure.
