Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the Gorakhpur Link Expressway, connecting Jaitpur in Gorakhpur to Salarpur in Azamgarh and linking it to the Purvanchal Expressway. Spanning over 91 km and four districts, the four-lane access-controlled expressway significantly reduces travel time between Gorakhpur and Lucknow. Following the tragic crash of Air India flight AI171 in Ahmedabad on June 12 that claimed nearly 297 lives, the airline has come under intense public and regulatory scrutiny. In response, Air India has announced a 15% cut in its international wide-body aircraft operations from June 21 to July 15. Over 80 flights have already been canceled amid technical inspections ordered by DGCA. The airline cited safety, operational stability, and geopolitical tensions as key reasons behind the decision.
