All 337 Tonnes of Bhopal Union Carbide Toxic Waste Incinerated at MP plant, says official

All 337 tonnes of hazardous waste from the defunct Union Carbide factory in Bhopal have been successfully incinerated at a facility in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, nearly six months after being transported there. The disposal, conducted under court orders and expert supervision, marks a major step in addressing the toxic legacy of the 1984 Bhopal gas tragedy. Authorities confirmed that the waste did not contain methyl isocyanate, the deadly gas behind the disaster, and that residue from the incineration will be scientifically buried by year-end.
