Parag Jain, the IPS officer credited as the key strategist behind Operation Sindoor, has been appointed the new chief of India’s external intelligence agency, R&AW. Jain, known for integrating HUMINT and TECHINT, led the intelligence team behind precision strikes on terror camps in Pakistan and PoK. He will assume the role from July 1, bringing decades of experience in counterterrorism, surveillance, and international security operations.

The DGCA has removed three senior Air India officials over violations of flight duty time regulations, following an audit of the airline’s crew rostering system. The regulator warned of serious consequences, including suspension of Air India’s licence, if corrective action is not taken. Air India has acknowledged the directive and placed its COO in charge of the crew management unit pending further review.

The Bihar government has raised the monthly social security pension by ₹700, increasing it from ₹400 to ₹1,100 for widows, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced that the new amount will be disbursed from July, benefitting over 1.09 crore people. The move comes ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in the state.
