Five people were killed and 18 others injured after a pick-up van overturned due to a tyre burst in Bihar’s Saran district on Monday morning. The accident occurred near Nayagaon locality around 6 am. While four victims died on the spot, another succumbed during treatment. The injured, including the driver, are receiving medical care, and an investigation is underway, police said.

At least two people died and several are feared missing after a century-old iron bridge collapsed over the Indrayani River in Pune’s Maval tehsil. The NDRF and other rescue teams are on-site, with 38 rescued and several injured as operations continue. Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis is monitoring the situation closely.

In the tragic aftermath of the June 12 Air India crash in Ahmedabad, authorities have identified 32 victims so far, with 14 bodies already returned to grieving families. The Air India 787-8 Dreamliner, bound for London, crashed shortly after takeoff, killing most of the 242 people onboard. DNA identification continues for remaining victims, as officials work round-the-clock to ensure a dignified return of bodies to their loved ones.

Seven people, including a child and the pilot, lost their lives in a helicopter crash near Gaurikund, Uttarakhand, while returning from Kedarnath. Bad weather is suspected to be the cause. Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami has ordered strict safety measures and suspended helicopter services for the Char Dham Yatra until further notice. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) will probe the incident.
