Gujarat has reported its fourth case of human metapneumovirus (HMPV) in less than a week, with a nine-month-old child in Ahmedabad testing positive for the infection. The child, admitted to a private hospital with cold, cough, and breathing difficulties, has no history of foreign travel. The state has also recorded cases in an eight-year-old boy from Sabarkantha and an 80-year-old man with asthma. HMPV, a respiratory virus related to the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), spreads through respiratory droplets and direct contact with infected individuals.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, claiming that the toilet in Kejriwal's ‘Sheesh Mahal’ is more expensive than the entire slums of the city. Addressing a conference for slum dwellers, Shah accused the AAP government of neglecting basic needs such as clean water and housing for the poor. In response, Kejriwal rejected the claims, calling them lies, and vowed to expose the BJP's intentions with evidence ahead of the elections.
