Singer Diljit Dosanjh’s October 30 concert at Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Stadium in Delhi will go ahead as scheduled after the Delhi Police reconsidered and granted permission for the event, a day after withholding clearance citing security concerns and law and order commitments during the festive season.
In a response to The Hindu on Friday (October 23, 2026), ticketing platform BookMyShow Live said reports suggesting that the concert had been cancelled were “inaccurate” and confirmed that permission had been issued following a “cordial and constructive meeting” with the police.
The organisers said they had presented a detailed plan addressing the safety, traffic and crowd-management measures sought by the authorities and assured them of compliance with all applicable requirements.
“Following these discussions and the submission of the requisite plan, permission for the event has been reconsidered and issued,” BookMyShow Live said, adding that the concert would proceed as planned.
The development follows a letter from Deputy Commissioner of Police (South District) Anant Mittal, informing the organisers that their application to hold the Delhi leg of Dosanjh’s Aura India Tour could not be accepted in view of specific threat-related inputs, security commitments during the festive season and other law and order concerns.
The police had examined the organisers’ application dated October 14 for the concert scheduled at JLN Stadium on October 30.
The decision had raised uncertainty over the Delhi leg of the tour, with the organisers subsequently holding discussions with the police to find a way forward.
