Union Government Blocks multiple websites Exposing Aadhaar-PAN data

The Union government has blocked several websites that were leaking sensitive personal information, including Aadhaar and PAN card details. This action follows a police complaint from the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) regarding the public display of Aadhaar data, violating the Aadhaar Act of 2016. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology emphasized its commitment to cybersecurity and personal data protection. Investigations by the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) identified security flaws in the affected websites, and operators have been advised on improving their IT infrastructure.

Sanjay Raut Granted Bail after Defamation Case Filed by BJP leader’s Wife

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut was granted bail on Thursday after being convicted in a defamation case filed by Medha Somaiya, the wife of former BJP MP Kirit Somaiya. The Sewree magistrate court sentenced Raut to 15 days in prison and imposed a ₹25,000 fine but later suspended the sentence for 30 days, allowing him to appeal. Her lawyer presented evidence to support the claims, arguing that Raut's statements were aimed at damaging her reputation.
