A horrifying case of domestic violence has emerged from Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district, where a man allegedly inserted chilli powder into his wife’s private parts and burned her with a hot iron over suspicions of infidelity. The woman, who was also locked without food or water for two days, was rescued by her brother and has filed an FIR against her husband and in-laws. The accused husband has been arrested, while others remain absconding.

Five people were killed and 18 others injured after a pick-up van overturned due to a tyre burst in Bihar’s Saran district on Monday morning. The accident occurred near Nayagaon locality around 6 am. While four victims died on the spot, another succumbed during treatment. The injured, including the driver, are receiving medical care, and an investigation is underway, police said.
