The encounter began around 5:30 PM after security forces launched a joint cordon and search operation based on intelligence reports. Head Constable Bashir Ahmed died in the exchange of gunfire, while an assistant sub-inspector sustained injuries. The area has been cordoned off, and reinforcements have been deployed as the situation remains tense with ongoing firing between security forces and militants.
