The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested two Pahalgam residents for allegedly harbouring Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists involved in the April 22 attack that killed 26 people and injured 16. The accused provided shelter and logistical support to the Pakistani militants prior to the attack. The arrests were made under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, and investigations are ongoing. The attack, described as one of the most gruesome in recent memory, prompted India to launch Operation Sindoor in retaliation.
Over 500 Indian nationals have been safely evacuated from conflict-hit Iran under "Operation Sindhu", the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said. Special flights brought back citizens, including students and pilgrims, as tensions escalated between Iran and Israel. The MEA expressed gratitude to the Iranian government for its support in the evacuation efforts.
The DGCA has removed three senior Air India officials over violations of flight duty time regulations, following an audit of the airline’s crew rostering system. The regulator warned of serious consequences, including suspension of Air India’s licence, if corrective action is not taken. Air India has acknowledged the directive and placed its COO in charge of the crew management unit pending further review.
State-run telecom operator BSNL has launched its indigenous 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) service in Hyderabad, marking its entry into the high-speed home broadband market. Dubbed "Quantum 5G FWA," the SIM-less, fully homegrown solution is BSNL's answer to private players like Jio and Airtel. The service, launched on June 18, will expand to six more cities by September 2025, with plans starting at ₹999 for 100 Mbps and ₹1,499 for 300 Mbps.
