Indian Railways is set to launch a comprehensive mobile application by the end of the year, designed as a one-stop platform for various passenger services. Developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), this "super app" will enable users to book tickets, buy platform passes, and monitor train schedules. It will integrate with existing IRCTC systems, ensuring continued access to ticketing and catering services. With over 100 million downloads, the IRCTC Rail Connect app remains the most widely used, and the new app is seen as a significant opportunity for increased revenue. In FY 2023-24, IRCTC reported a net profit of ₹1,111.26 crore, with ticket sales contributing significantly to its revenue.
