A man from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, has been booked for allegedly posting a message on social media that read “I love you Pakistan,” a police officer confirmed.
The accused, identified as Tabrez Alam, a resident of Shikarpur Chaudhary Gautia in Bareilly, came under scrutiny after his post was highlighted by the group “Akhand Bharat Sankalp Nath Nagari 25” on the social media platform X. The group claimed that Alam’s post posed a threat to India’s unity and integrity and called for strict legal action.
Following the complaint, an FIR was filed against Tabrez Alam under Section 152 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which addresses actions against national integrity. The SHO of Izzatnagar Police Station, Vijendra Singh, confirmed the registration of the FIR.
This isn’t the first time Tabrez Alam has found himself in trouble with the law. He was previously accused of abducting a Hindu girl and attempting to convert her. According to a complaint from the girl’s father, she had disappeared from her home after being allegedly lured by Alam with promises of money and jewelry. The girl was reportedly taken to Ghaziabad, where Alam tried to convert her and threatened to kill her if she refused. Authorities have yet to locate the girl, and efforts to find her are ongoing.
This incident follows a series of security-related arrests in Uttar Pradesh. Earlier this month, two employees from ordnance factories were arrested for sharing confidential information with Pakistan’s ISI. Vikas Kumar, a 38-year-old junior manager from the Kanpur factory, and Ravindra Kumar, a 45-year-old employee from Firozabad, were arrested in mid-March. The duo allegedly leaked sensitive information to their ISI contacts in exchange for money, having been targeted by a fake Facebook profile named Neha Sharma.
