Swiggy Instamart Challenges Amazon, Flipkart with 10-Minute Smartphone Delivery

Swiggy Instamart is stepping up its game in the e-commerce space by expanding into premium categories like electronics, a market traditionally led by giants Amazon and Flipkart. The quick-commerce platform has introduced 10-minute smartphone deliveries, offering a wide selection of top-brand devices to customers in 10 major cities.

From the latest iPhone 16e to popular Android models such as the Samsung M35, OnePlus Nord CE, and Redmi 14C, Swiggy Instamart promises speedy deliveries in as little as 10 minutes. The service is currently available in cities including Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Faridabad, Noida, Gurgaon, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Pune, with plans to expand further.

Amitesh Jha, CEO of Swiggy Instamart, highlighted the launch as a response to the discerning Indian consumer, saying, “This launch is a testament to our commitment to delivering exactly what our customers want. Whether it’s an urgent need or a long-awaited upgrade, we’re making high-quality tech purchases more convenient than ever.”

In addition to smartphones, the platform offers models from brands like Motorola, Oppo, Vivo, and Realme, catering to a variety of preferences and budgets. To entice customers, Swiggy Instamart is offering a 5% discount (up to Rs 4,000) on orders above Rs 11,499 with ICICI Bank credit cards.

The launch comes as Swiggy Instamart continues to grow its footprint, now serving over 100 cities, with 32 of them added in 2025 alone. The platform is reimagining the convenience of quick commerce, bringing 10-minute delivery services to more than just groceries.

As Swiggy Instamart and other quick-commerce platforms like Zomato’s Blinkit and Zepto continue to thrive, e-commerce giants Amazon and Flipkart may need to invest up to $1 billion each to keep pace. These platforms are already seeing a shift in consumer preferences, with fast deliveries taking significant market share in groceries and essentials. Analysts suggest it’s only a matter of time before quick commerce firms expand their reach into premium categories like electronics and fashion, areas where Amazon and Flipkart have long held dominance.
