Salman Khan’s highly anticipated film Sikandar is just hours away from hitting the big screen. As is tradition with the actor’s Eid releases, Sikandar comes with massive expectations. The film marks Salman’s return with his customary Eid release, and fans are already gearing up for another blockbuster. At a recent press conference, Salman made waves with a mic-drop statement, acknowledging that his loyal fanbase plays a pivotal role in helping his films cross the Rs 200 crore mark at the box office.
Ahead of the film’s release tomorrow, trade analysts have already begun speculating about its potential opening day earnings. According to trade expert Akshaye Rathi, Sikandar could make a solid Rs 30 crore on its opening day. Speaking exclusively to News18 Showsha, Rathi shared his insights, stating, “The expectations for Sikandar are enormous because Salman Khan and Eid have become a winning combination for box office success.”
Rathi also pointed to the powerful combination behind the film, including producer Sajid Nadiadwala and director AR Murugadoss, known for his mass-oriented storytelling. “With Salman Khan, Eid, and a talented producer-director duo like Nadiadwala and Murugadoss, we’re expecting strong box office numbers. A minimum opening of Rs 30 crore seems very achievable,” he added.
Salman Khan’s immense mass appeal is seen as a major factor in the film’s potential success. Rathi emphasized, “Salman Khan is one of the most mass-appealing stars in the industry. His stardom resonates with audiences at the grassroots level. Even a film with a weaker storyline can generate a significant opening due to his fan following. For instance, Tubelight made over Rs 100 crore, which proves the true strength of Salman’s stardom.”
Amid a dry spell in Bollywood, Sikandar is being eyed as a potential savior for the industry. Rathi mentioned, “Looking at the upcoming releases, there’s Sikandar, followed by Jaat, Kesari 2, and big summer releases like Mission Impossible 2 and Superman. It’s clear that there’s a lot of potential for box office hits, and the real question is which of these films will truly strike gold.”
Directed by AR Murugadoss, Sikandar features a fresh pairing of Salman Khan with Rashmika Mandanna. The film also stars Sharman Joshi, Prateik Babbar, Anjini Dhawan, and Kajal Aggarwal in pivotal roles. Fans can catch Sikandar on the big screen starting March 30. With Salman Khan leading the charge, expectations are high for yet another Eid hit.
