PM Modi Leaves for US After ‘Productive’ Visit to France, Macron Bids Farewell at Airport

By The Sampadak Express

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has wrapped up his successful three-day visit to France, calling it “historic and productive.” The trip included significant discussions on topics like artificial intelligence, commerce, energy, and cultural ties between the two nations. In a special gesture, French President Emmanuel Macron personally saw off PM Modi at the airport, with the two leaders sharing a warm hug before his departure.

PM Modi’s visit to France saw him co-chairing the AI Action Summit with global leaders and top technology CEOs. He also had in-depth discussions with President Macron on the progress of the Horizon 2047 Roadmap, aimed at strengthening the India-France strategic partnership. Additionally, the leaders traveled to Marseille, where PM Modi inaugurated India’s first consulate in France and visited the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER), a key global scientific initiative, in which India plays a pivotal role.

During the visit, PM Modi also paid his respects to Indian soldiers who fought in the World Wars at the Mazargues War Cemetery, a solemn moment in his trip.“Thank you, France! A productive visit concludes, where I attended programs on AI, commerce, energy, and cultural linkages. Gratitude to President @EmmanuelMacron and the people of France,” PM Modi shared on social media.

Now, the Prime Minister is on his way to Washington, D.C., for the second leg of his two-nation tour, with an official working visit to the United States from February 12-13. This marks his first trip to the US since the beginning of President Donald Trump’s second term in office.

In a statement before his departure, PM Modi expressed anticipation for his upcoming discussions with President Biden: “Although this will be our first meeting following his historic electoral victory and inauguration in January, I have a very warm recollection of working together during his first term in building a Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership between India and the US.”

PM Modi further emphasized that the visit would focus on advancing collaboration in critical sectors such as technology, trade, defense, energy, and strengthening supply chain resilience between the two nations.
