MP Govt to Implement Liquor Ban in Religious Cities, Says CM Mohan Yadav

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced that the state government is actively considering revising its policies regarding liquor sales in religious cities. CM Yadav emphasized that the government is contemplating a ban on liquor within the boundaries of these cities, in response to suggestions from religious leaders and public concerns about maintaining the sanctity of these areas.”

The current budget year is ending, and we are exploring the possibility of amending our policies in religious cities. We are seriously considering closing liquor shops in these areas to address the concerns raised by many seers and the public regarding the religious atmosphere. We are committed to taking concrete steps soon to implement this change,” CM Yadav stated.

In addition, CM Yadav is set to participate in the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony for the Sevarkhedi-Silarkhedi project, a significant Rs 614 crore initiative, on Monday in Ujjain district, along with Union Minister CR Patil. This project aims to ensure a sustainable water supply to the Kshipra River, ensuring an adequate water level while also providing drinking water for the people of Ujjain.”

With the Sevarkhedi-Silarkhedi project, we will ensure that saints can bathe in the holy waters of the Kshipra River during Simhastha 2028. In 2004, we provided sacred water from the Gambhir River, and during Simhastha 2016, saints bathed in Narmada water due to the low levels of Kshipra River. We are now proud that the water levels will be sufficient for Simhastha 2028 and beyond,” CM Yadav shared.

The project is part of the Madhya Pradesh government’s ongoing commitment to public welfare and environmental preservation. CM Yadav concluded by reaffirming the government’s dedication to such initiatives and extending his best wishes to the people of the state.
