Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday strongly condemned the recent terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 27 innocent lives, asserting that the Modi government is determined to eliminate terrorism from every corner of India.
Speaking at a road-naming ceremony in New Delhi to honour iconic Bodo leader Bodofa Upendranath Brahma, Shah issued a stern warning to those behind the Pahalgam attack. “This cowardly act is not a victory. If the terrorists think they’ve won by taking 27 lives, they are mistaken. This is the Modi government — no one will be spared,” he declared.
Shah described the attack as a “turning point” in India’s fight against terrorism, promising that every perpetrator would be tracked down, given a “befitting reply,” and held accountable. “Each of them will be hunted down,” he said.
The event began with tributes to the victims of the Pahalgam terror strike and was attended by key leaders including Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, BTC Chief Promod Boro, and New Delhi MP Bansuri Swaraj.
Reaffirming the Centre’s “zero-tolerance” approach to terrorism, Shah said, “Since the 1990s, the Modi government has taken firm action against terrorism in Kashmir. Today’s attackers should not be under any false illusions — we will finish this battle.”
He highlighted the government’s consistent efforts against insurgency in the Northeast, Left-wing extremism, and terror in Jammu & Kashmir. “It is our resolve to uproot terrorism from every inch of the country,” Shah said.
Emphasizing global solidarity, he added, “India is not alone in this battle — the entire world stands with us.”
The Home Minister concluded with a strong message: the fight against terrorism will continue until it is completely eradicated from Indian soil.
