A wedding video featuring an Indian couple’s dramatic entry has gone viral, but not for the reasons they might have hoped. Shared widely across social media, the clip showcases a bizarre Bollywood-inspired twist, leaving many viewers cringing at the couple’s unique choice of entrance.
Inspired by the 2023 Bollywood blockbuster Animal, the bride and groom made their grand arrival on a movable steel machine gun, a prop resembling the 500 kg weapon used by Ranbir Kapoor’s character in the movie. In the film, Kapoor’s character wields the intimidating machine gun in a thrilling action sequence. For their wedding, the couple opted for a custom-built replica of the gun, mounted on a platform that emitted smoke from the sides. The dramatic moment was set to the song Arjun Vailly, adding to the cinematic flair.
The video has already garnered an impressive 16.6 million views on Instagram, but the reception has been far from positive. While some viewers were intrigued by the idea of an unforgettable wedding entry, the majority of comments expressed disbelief and second-hand embarrassment. Many social media users took to the comments section, criticizing the couple’s decision to emulate a violent action sequence from Animal.
“What!!! Why would you become a character that killed people for revenge/power?” one user questioned. Others were equally skeptical, with one commenting, “Imagine marrying someone who thinks Animal was cool,” while another wrote, “Imagine them watching this five years later.”
