India Urges Citizens to Exit Tehran Amid Escalating Israel-Iran Conflict

By The Sampadak Express

Amid growing fears of a full-scale conflict between Israel and Iran, the Embassy of India in Tehran has issued an urgent advisory for Indian nationals and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) residing in the Iranian capital. The Embassy has called on all those using personal vehicles to leave Tehran and relocate to safer areas outside the city.

The advisory, issued early Tuesday morning, comes as tensions in the region escalate rapidly and reports suggest a widening of the ongoing conflict. Large-scale civilian movement out of Tehran has already been reported, with concerns of an impending full-force Israeli military offensive mounting.

“All Indian nationals and PIOs who can move out of Tehran using their own resources are advised to relocate to a safe location outside the city,” the Indian Embassy stated in its public announcement. This marks the first time in recent days that the Embassy has specifically urged citizens to make independent arrangements for evacuation.

The Ministry of External Affairs also confirmed that “some Indians have been facilitated to leave Iran through the border with Armenia,” and that further advisories will be issued as the situation develops.

Assistance and Emergency Contacts

To support evacuation efforts and coordinate assistance, the Embassy has shared the following helpline numbers:

General Assistance (Tehran):

+98-9010144557

+98-9128109115

+98-9128109101

Emergency WhatsApp Numbers (issued June 15):

+98-9010144557

+98-9015993320

+91-8086871709

Regional Contacts:

Bandar Abbas: +98-9177699036

Zahedan: +98-9396356649

The Embassy has also urged all Indian citizens currently in Tehran who have not yet contacted them to do so immediately and share their location and contact details.

In recent days, the Indian Embassy has been actively coordinating the relocation of Indian students and professionals from Tehran via special buses, part of an emergency evacuation effort amid repeated Israeli missile strikes on the Iranian capital.

The situation remains fluid, and Indian authorities are closely monitoring developments to ensure the safety of their citizens in Iran.
