Five transgender persons held on ‘extortion’ charge in Adilabad
Five transgender persons were arrested on Thursday on allegations of extorting money from passengers at the bus station in Adilabad town, the police said.

According to the police, the individuals allegedly demanded money from passengers on the premises of the Adilabad bus station on Wednesday, September 30. The activity reportedly caused nuisance and disturbance for commuters and staff at the facility.
Arrests and charges
Following a complaint lodged by the bus station manager, the Adilabad Two-Town police registered a case under Section 308(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and took the five persons into custody on Thursday. Of the five accused, three are residents of Adilabad district, while two are from neighbouring Maharashtra, officers said.
