CRPF Dismisses Jawan for Hiding Marriage to Pakistani Woman, Violating Visa Norms

By The Sampadak Express

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has dismissed Constable Munir Ahmed from service for concealing his marriage to a Pakistani national and allowing her to overstay in India beyond the validity of her visa. The paramilitary force cited national security concerns and violation of service conduct rules as grounds for his dismissal.

According to an official statement, Ahmed, a member of the CRPF’s 41st Battalion, was found to have knowingly harboured his wife, Minal Khan from Sialkot, Pakistan, after her visa expired. “His actions were found to be in violation of service conduct and detrimental to national security,” the CRPF said.

Ahmed had initially submitted a request to the CRPF in 2023 seeking permission to marry Minal Khan. However, he proceeded with the marriage via video conference on May 24, 2024, without awaiting official approval. Minal later entered India on a visitor visa and stayed with Ahmed.

Her presence in the country came to light after the Indian government ordered all Pakistani nationals to leave as part of diplomatic measures following the Pahalgam terrorist attack that claimed 26 lives. Minal was subsequently sent to the Attari border for deportation after her visa expired.

Ahmed later approached the Jammu and Kashmir High Court, which granted a 10-day interim relief from deportation for his wife while the case is under review.

The CRPF’s action underscores its strict stance on security-related protocol violations among its personnel.
