A 55-year-old doctor, Dr. Javed Akhtar, was shot dead at a private nursing home in Delhi's Jaitpur on Wednesday night. This incident occurred less than two months after the brutal rape and murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata. According to staff at Nima Hospital, two men arrived late at night, with one seeking a bandage change for an injured toe. After receiving treatment, they proceeded to Dr. Akhtar's cabin. Minutes later, nurses reported hearing a gunshot and found the doctor bleeding from the head. The police suspect it was a targeted killing and are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the suspects, who are believed to be around 16 or 17 years old. The shocking murder has raised serious concerns about safety in medical facilities.
