Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu has arrived in Delhi for his first bilateral visit since taking office last year. This five-day trip aims to strengthen ties that have faced challenges due to Muizzu's pro-China stance and his call for the withdrawal of Indian military personnel shortly after assuming office. During his visit, he will meet with President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and other senior officials. The Ministry of External Affairs has highlighted the significance of the Maldives as India's key maritime neighbor and expressed hope for enhanced cooperation and people-to-people ties. President Muizzu will also visit Mumbai and Bengaluru for business events as part of his itinerary.

A tragic accident in Lalsot city, Dausa district, Rajasthan, involved an out-of-control dumper that struck several vehicles, resulting in the deaths of five people, including a young girl. The incident occurred when the dumper, filled with gravel, experienced brake failure on a slope, leading to a collision with a bus and then into a crowded area. In addition to the fatalities, 11 others were seriously injured. Local residents protested by blocking roads, blaming police for allowing heavy vehicles into the city during the day.
