The United States has launched airstrikes on Iran’s key nuclear sites Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan in a major escalation of the ongoing Middle East conflict. President Donald Trump confirmed the strikes, warning of further attacks unless Tehran agrees to peace. While the attacks raised fears of radiation leaks, both Iranian officials and international agencies have stated that there is no immediate danger to nearby residents, as nuclear materials had been removed from the facilities prior to the strikes.
Over 500 Indian nationals have been safely evacuated from conflict-hit Iran under "Operation Sindhu", the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said. Special flights brought back citizens, including students and pilgrims, as tensions escalated between Iran and Israel. The MEA expressed gratitude to the Iranian government for its support in the evacuation efforts.
The DGCA has removed three senior Air India officials over violations of flight duty time regulations, following an audit of the airline’s crew rostering system. The regulator warned of serious consequences, including suspension of Air India’s licence, if corrective action is not taken. Air India has acknowledged the directive and placed its COO in charge of the crew management unit pending further review.
The Bihar government has raised the monthly social security pension by ₹700, increasing it from ₹400 to ₹1,100 for widows, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced that the new amount will be disbursed from July, benefitting over 1.09 crore people. The move comes ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in the state.
State-run telecom operator BSNL has launched its indigenous 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) service in Hyderabad, marking its entry into the high-speed home broadband market. Dubbed "Quantum 5G FWA," the SIM-less, fully homegrown solution is BSNL's answer to private players like Jio and Airtel. The service, launched on June 18, will expand to six more cities by September 2025, with plans starting at ₹999 for 100 Mbps and ₹1,499 for 300 Mbps.
