An abstract composition in acrylic, painted on a 3 ft × 3 ft canvas by Delhi-based art collector, artist and philanthropist Shalini Passi, will be up for auction on November 3 at the Move For Cancer Awareness’s (MCAN) annual fundraiser, “Bombay se Beyond – Postcard to Reality,” to be held in Mumbai. The proceeds from the work, which will be auctioned with a minimum bid of ₹3,50,000, will support the treatment of underprivileged patients at Tata Memorial Hospital, with a focus on head and neck cancers.

Ms. Passi’s painting will be offered alongside a curated selection of lots, including Kanav Arora’s Dabbawala artwork, an exclusive dinner at Papa’s and furniture with Met Gala credentials.

MCAN was founded by Maheka Mirpuri in 2013, after she lost her father and brother-in-law to cancer. Its annual fundraiser brings together collectors, artists and patrons to raise funds for patient care.

“I am honoured to support MCAN and the work Maheka has built over the years. Creating this piece for the auction was a personal way to contribute, and I hope it brings meaningful help to patients and their families at Tata Memorial,” Ms. Passi said in a statement.

The evening will be themed “The Bombay Begum,” a dress code inspired by the elegance of vintage Bombay, with guests encouraged to wear a cherished piece that holds the memory of a loved one.

Ms. Passi is the founder of MASH, a digital platform exploring the intersection of art, architecture, craft, design and fashion. Through her work, Passi champions Indian creativity and makes art more accessible, bridging contemporary art, design and culture. She is also a UNICEF Champion for Children, supporting philanthropic initiatives through her platform and art-led events.
