Ahead of the elections, the Police department is taking various measures to instil confidence and trust among the people on peaceful conduct of elections and maintaining law and order during the election process. The District has several hyper sensitive and sensitive pockets which witnessed poll-related violence in the past.

Superintendent of Police P. Jagadeesh had directed the local police and special police forces to conduct foot marches in sensitive villages across the district. These special foot marches were organised to prevent any untoward incidents and to instil confidence among the public by dispelling fear. During these visits, meetings were held with villagers.

Addressing the village meetings, police officials made it clear that no one, regardless of their status, would be spared if they attempted to disrupt law and order or incite unrest during the election period. Police warned that those who take the law into their own hands will face strict legal action. The public was also advised to immediately inform police if anyone in the village engages in intimidation or attempts to influence voters.

The SP said police patrolling has been intensified in sensitive areas, and warned that criminal cases will be registered against anyone who posts provocative content on social media or engages in any act that disrupts law and order. The Police urged the public to exercise their right to vote freely and fearlessly, without any apprehension.
