Industries and Commerce Minister T.G. Bharath Gupta on October 21 urged voters in Kurnool city to elect candidates of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) with a decisive mandate, arguing that a strong result would accelerate development and improve civic infrastructure.
According to The Hindu, Bharath, accompanied by the alliance’s mayoral candidate Bolleddula Vijaya Pratyusha, led a door-to-door canvass across wards 4 and 5, visiting households and seeking support for NDA nominees.
During the campaign, Bharath questioned why the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) could not field a mayoral candidate from the Kurnool and Panyam constituencies. He claimed that even if YSRCP corporators were elected, they would not deliver results.
Alleging that the YSRCP obstructs development and does not work for public welfare, he said residents want progress and urged them to back the alliance to ensure the city advances without hurdles.
Bharath assured that the administration would prioritise improvements to roads, sanitation, drinking water and other essential services. He pledged to remain accessible to residents and to work continuously to address civic issues, adding that with public support he would steer Kurnool on a development path.
Ward-level NDA candidates Sushila Bhai (Ward 4) and Utla Ramesh Babu (Ward 5) joined the canvass.
