The management of the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy temple at Srisailam had increased its use of modern technology to provide better facilities for devotees over the past year, temple Trust board chairman Pothugunta Ramesh Naidu has said.

The Trust board headed by Mr. Ramesh Naidu completed one year in office on Tuesday (October 13, 2026). Mr. Ramesh Naidu, along with Trust board members Chittibotla Bharadwaja Sharma, Devaki Venkateswarlu and Chiluveru Kashinath, outlined the progress achieved by the Devasthanam during this period.

Mr. Ramesh Naidu said as part of the State government’s policy decision, it was decided to increasingly use technology in temple administration. To provide better facilities for devotees, all CCTV cameras at the temple are being integrated with artificial intelligence (AI). This integration will enable AI-based solutions to help in decisions on regulating devotee crowds and vehicle traffic, he said.

Mr. Ramesh Naidu said the Board of Trustees had also approved a master plan designed to meet requirements for the next 30 years. “Priority has been given to facilities for ordinary devotees, such as the construction of dormitories, installation of restrooms, and vehicle parking areas. The master plan also incorporates necessary infrastructure to further develop the Srisailam shrine as a prominent spiritual center,” he said, adding that environmental protection was also being given importance in developing the town.

The other important decisions include the construction of a ₹188-crore queue complex to accommodate the rising number of devotees and a Public Amenities Complex (PAC) for ordinary devotees similar to the one in Tirumala.

The Trust board has also decided to carry out development works worth ₹3.20 crore at the Kolunabharathi Ammavari Temple, a shrine adopted by the Devasthanam, apart from the Jyothi and Siddhavatam temples.

Mr. Ramesh Naidu said that keeping vehicle congestion in mind, a decision had been made to set up spacious parking areas at several locations. A decision was also made to install high-mast tower lighting at various locations, specifically in open areas and parking zones.

The temple has also conducted ‘Varuna Yagam’ and ‘Sahasraghatabhishekam’ to alleviate the State’s rainfall deficit, ensure timely rainfall and promote bountiful crop yields. The “Sahasra Chandi Parayana-sahita Shata Chandi Maharudra Yagam” is being performed for the first time this year during the Sri Devi Sarannavaratri festival.
