Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA T Raja Singh on Monday announced his resignation from the party, citing dissatisfaction over the reported appointment of N Ramchander Rao as the new president of BJP’s Telangana unit.

In a letter addressed to G Kishan Reddy, the current state president of the party, Raja Singh expressed “shock and disappointment” over the leadership decision, which he said has disheartened not just him but “lakhs of karyakartas, leaders, and voters” who have supported the party through thick and thin.“

As per media reports, Shri Ramchander Rao is set to be appointed as the new BJP State President for Telangana. This decision has come as a shock and disappointment… There are many capable senior leaders, MLAs, and MPs in the state who have tirelessly worked for the growth of BJP,” Singh stated in the letter, which he also shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

Despite parting ways with the BJP, the Goshamahal MLA reaffirmed his allegiance to the Hindutva ideology, vowing to continue advocating for the Hindu community.“

While I may be stepping away from the party, I remain fully committed to the ideology of Hindutva and the service of our Dharma and the people of Goshamahal,” he added. “I will continue to raise my voice and stand with the Hindu community with even greater strength.”

T Raja Singh, a prominent and controversial leader, has often courted headlines for his provocative speeches and has several criminal cases registered against him. In April this year, two FIRs were filed against him for allegedly using objectionable language and issuing threats to police personnel during a Ram Navami procession.

His resignation comes amid an ongoing internal tussle within the Telangana BJP over the party’s leadership and direction ahead of crucial political battles in the state.
