Chhattisgarh Horror: Couple Kills Disabled Man Over Property Dispute, Hides Body in Cement-Filled Trunk

By The Sampadak Express

In a chilling murder case that has shocked Raipur, Chhattisgarh Police have arrested a couple for allegedly killing a physically disabled man and concealing his body in a cement-sealed steel trunk. The accused, Ankit Upadhyay and his wife Shivani Sharma, were arrested from Delhi airport and brought back to Raipur on Tuesday night.

The victim, 45-year-old Kishore Paikra, was reportedly murdered over a property dispute involving ₹50 lakh. According to police, Ankit and Shivani, who had been caring for Kishore, sold a piece of land owned by him. While the actual sale value was ₹50 lakh, they allegedly informed Kishore that it had been sold for only ₹30 lakh. When Kishore discovered the discrepancy and demanded the remaining ₹20 lakh, the couple allegedly killed him.

Investigators say the duo murdered Kishore, stuffed his body into a steel trunk, and poured cement over it to hide the crime. They then dumped the trunk in an isolated spot within a Raipur colony.

Raipur SSP Lal Ummed Singh confirmed that the couple was tracked down using CCTV footage and local intelligence. The breakthrough came when police traced the trunk to a store in Golbazar, identified by its “Habbu Bhai” label. The shopkeeper recalled selling the trunk to a young couple matching the suspects’ description, helping police narrow their search.

The crime began to unravel when locals noticed suspicious behavior. On June 16, the couple was seen scouting for rental property in the area. Ankit later rented a third-floor flat. On June 23, a resident spotted Ankit moving a heavy trunk from the building’s lift and notified the police.

Upon inspection, police discovered the trunk with Kishore’s cement-encased body inside. The gruesome find confirmed suspicions of foul play and linked the murder to Kishore’s disappearance.

The couple is expected to be produced in court today as police seek custody for further interrogation. Authorities believe more shocking revelations may emerge as the investigation progresses.
