In a momentous and spiritually significant event, the consecration of ‘Raja Ram’ Lord Ram in his kingly form was performed on the first floor of the grand Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya on the auspicious occasion of Ganga Dussehra.

This marks the second major consecration ceremony at the temple after the January 22, 2024 Pran Pratishtha of the Ram Lalla idol, which was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The latest ceremony, held during the auspicious ‘Abhijit Muhurat’, included the installation of idols in eight newly constructed temples within the Ram Janmabhoomi complex. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was present during the rituals, offering prayers and visiting the adjacent Hanumangarhi temple.

Deity Installations Across the Complex

According to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, the following idols were consecrated alongside the central ‘Shri Ram Darbar’:

Sheshavatar

Lord Shiva (northeast/Ishan corner)

Lord Ganesha (southeast/Agni corner)

Lord Hanuman (southern wing)

Surya (Sun God) (southwest/Nairitya corner)

Goddess Bhagwati (northwest/Vayavya corner)

Goddess Annapurna (northern wing)

Mahant Raghuvar Sharan, chief priest of Rasik Niwas Temple, highlighted the historical significance of the occasion, calling it the culmination of a 500-year-long struggle to reinstall Lord Ram as a divine sovereign in Ayodhya. “This Ganga Dussehra is not just sacred, it’s historic,” he stated.

Ceremonial Details and Spiritual Significance

The multi-day rituals concluded on Thursday, performed with full Vedic chants and religious rites, with the participation of scholars and Brahmins from across India. The ceremonies symbolized the fulfillment of centuries of devotion, penance, and faith, turning a spiritual aspiration into reality.”

This day marks a new beginning for Ayodhya and the entire nation. It is a celebration of devotion and cultural pride,” said a Trust representative.

CM Yogi Adityanath’s Participation

CM Yogi Adityanath offered prayers at the sanctum and had darshan of the newly consecrated idols. He later shared his thoughts on social media platform X, stating:”

Today, at the birthplace of Shri Ram, we witness the divine consecration of holy idols in eight temples on the first floor of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. This is a proud expression of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’. Jai Siyavar Ramchandra!”

The event also coincided with the Chief Minister’s 53rd birthday, further amplifying the spiritual and emotional fervor in Ayodhya. Stringent security arrangements were in place throughout the day, ensuring the safety of the large number of devotees and dignitaries.

Public Access and Completion Status

Champat Rai, General Secretary of the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust, announced that nearly 95% of the temple work has been completed. However, the newly consecrated temples on the first floor will remain closed to the public for now.“

Darshan will continue as usual for devotees, but there will be no VIP darshan today. On average, 70,000–80,000 devotees visit daily. Public entry is permitted through the eastern gate after security checks,” said Rai.

With this landmark ceremony, Ayodhya continues to affirm its place as a beacon of devotion and cultural heritage, ushering in a new era with the spiritual reinstatement of Raja Ram.
