Delhi Health Department Urges Covid Readiness
In light of a rise in Covid-19 cases in several countries, the Delhi government has issued a precautionary advisory to all healthcare institutions across the city. The directive urges hospitals to remain prepared with adequate beds, oxygen supply, medicines, and vaccines.
The advisory follows reports of increasing Covid-19 infections in countries such as China, Thailand, and Singapore. In response, Delhi’s Health Department has instructed all hospitals to ensure the functionality of essential medical equipment including ventilators, Bi-PAP machines, oxygen concentrators, and PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) oxygen plants.
Positive Samples to Undergo Genome Sequencing
Additionally, the government has mandated that all positive Covid samples be sent to Lok Nayak Hospital for genome sequencing. Health facilities are also required to submit daily updates of key Covid-related parameters to the Delhi State Health Data Management Portal.
