Modi Declares Ceasefire Initiated by Pakistan

In a strong and decisive message to Pakistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday declared that India has only “paused” its retaliatory actions against terrorist and military targets across the border and emphasized that this is not the end of India’s response.

Retaliation Depends on Pakistan’s Actions

Addressing the nation following the successful conclusion of Operation Sindoor, PM Modi revealed that the ceasefire currently in place was initiated at the request of Pakistan. He made it clear that India’s future course of action will depend on Pakistan’s behavior in the coming days.

“When Pakistan urged and assured that they would not act, India too paused. But let me repeat we have so far only paused our retaliatory action against Pakistan’s terror and military bases,” Modi said. “Every step of Pakistan will be tested.”

The Prime Minister reiterated his government’s firm stance that dialogue and terrorism cannot go hand-in-hand. He added that “terror and trade cannot co-exist… water and blood cannot flow together.”

Operation Sindoor: What Modi Revealed

During his first national address since Operation Sindoor, PM Modi confirmed that Indian armed forces successfully eliminated over 100 terrorists and destroyed multiple terror headquarters in a decisive military operation.

Terrorists hiding freely in Pakistan were planning attacks on India. We struck and eliminated them in one blow. This action left Pakistan rattled and desperate. Instead of cooperating, they launched attacks on our schools, colleges, temples, and gurdwaras,” he said.

He further stated that Pakistan’s retaliatory strikes only exposed its true intentions, prompting a swift and powerful response from India.

Pakistan targeted our military sites, but got a response that hit them straight in the chest. India’s drones and missiles hit their targets with precision. The airbases they were once proud of have been severely damaged. In just three days, we inflicted damage beyond their imagination,” Modi said.

Talks Only About PoK, Modi Reaffirms

The Prime Minister concluded by reiterating that any future talks with Pakistan would only concern Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and stressed that eliminating terror is essential for Pakistan’s own survival.
