5,000 Pakistani Nationals in Delhi Identified, Directed to Leave Following Visa Revocation Order

By The Sampadak Express

In a significant move following a recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has revoked visas for most Pakistani nationals residing in India. The Intelligence Bureau (IB) has shared a list of around 5,000 Pakistani nationals living in Delhi with the city police, who have now been tasked with ensuring their departure.

The Foreign Regional Registration Office (FRRO) has coordinated with the Delhi Police’s Special Branch, which has further distributed the list to the respective districts for verification and follow-up. The government’s directive excludes medical, diplomatic, and Long-Term Visas (LTVs), with existing medical visas expiring on April 29, 2025.

According to a senior official, “The list includes a large number of Pakistani nationals living in Central and North-East Delhi. These individuals have been asked to return to Pakistan after verification. Those on Long-Term Visas, especially Hindu migrants, are exempted from this order.”

The Delhi Police have received two overlapping lists — one with 3,000 names and another with 2,000 — which are currently being verified to account for individuals who may have already left the country.

Senior officers are monitoring the situation closely, with the Special Branch and IB conducting further ground-level checks to identify and notify Pakistani nationals of their required departure.

Sources reveal that an estimated 900 Pakistani nationals reside near Majnu Ka Tila and another 600–700 near Signature Bridge.

The MHA’s directive comes amid heightened security concerns and aims to tighten immigration control in the wake of the recent violence in Jammu and Kashmir.
