India to Block All Water Flowing to Pakistan: Union minister Paatil

By The Sampadak Express

In a strong statement following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam , Union Jal Shakti Minister C R Paatil declared on Friday that the government is formulating a strategy to completely halt the flow of water from India to Pakistan.

Speaking after a high-level meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Paatil emphasized that the move aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s directives aimed at responding firmly to cross-border terrorism.“

We will ensure that not a single drop of water flows into Pakistan from India,” Paatil asserted, adding that Shah provided key suggestions for effective implementation of the decision.

The meeting follows India’s decision to suspend the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives. Senior officials from multiple ministries were present to discuss a long-term strategy for executing the government’s plan.

Later, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), Paatil wrote: “The Modi government’s historic decision on the Indus Waters Treaty is lawful and in national interest. We will ensure that not a single drop of Indus water flows into Pakistan.”

Sources indicated that India has already formally notified Pakistan of the treaty’s suspension, citing violations linked to persistent cross-border terrorism, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir.

The move signals a clear and stern message to Pakistan: terrorism will not be tolerated, and India will take decisive steps in response.
