Former Australian cricketer David Warner recently expressed frustration with Air India after a significant flight delay. Warner, who last played for Australia in the Men’s T20 World Cup in the West Indies and USA, was aboard a flight that initially lacked a pilot, leading to an extended wait. The retired batter took to social media to voice his disappointment.
In a tweet, Warner shared, “We’ve boarded a plane with no pilots and waiting on the plane for hours. Why would you board passengers knowing that you have no pilots for the flight?”
In response, Air India issued a statement attributing the delay to poor weather conditions in Bengaluru, which caused widespread flight diversions and delays. The airline clarified that the crew assigned to Warner’s flight was engaged in another duty, contributing further to the hold-up. Despite the inconvenience, Air India acknowledged the situation and apologized for the disruption faced by Warner and other passengers.
The airline’s reply to Warner read, “Dear Mr. Warner, today’s challenging weather in Bengaluru caused diversions and delays across all airlines. The crew operating your flight was held up on an earlier assignment affected by these disruptions, which led to a delay in departure. We appreciate your patience and thank you for choosing to fly with us.”

Warner is one of the four batters in IPL history to surpass 6000 runs, joining Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, and Rohit Sharma.
The left-handed batter is now set to play for Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025, which runs from April 11 to May 18. The Kings’ first match is against the Multan Sultans on April 12 at the National Stadium in Karachi.
