IIT Engineer Confesses to Killing 3-Year-Old Son Over Marital Disputes, Pune Police Reveal

By The Sampadak Express

In a shocking revelation, the Pune Police have uncovered the motive behind the tragic killing of 3-year-old Himmat by his father, Madhav Teketi, an IIT Bangalore graduate and engineer at a multinational company. The police report suggests that Madhav was suspicious of his wife, Swaroopa Teketi’s character, and the couple had been embroiled in frequent arguments.

The incident unfolded on Thursday when Swaroopa filed a missing persons report at the Chandannagar Police Station, claiming that her son had disappeared around 12:30 pm while in his father’s care. A case was immediately registered under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and an investigation was launched.

CCTV footage from the residential complex showed Madhav leaving with his son, Himmat, but returning alone. As the investigation progressed, police discovered that Madhav had purchased a knife and a blade from a local shop shortly before the incident.

Sima Dhakane, Senior Police Inspector at the Chandannagar Police Station, stated that during the initial questioning, Madhav appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and was found to be misleading the authorities. However, after a thorough technical analysis and sustained interrogation, the accused finally admitted to the crime.

As a result of his confession, Madhav Teketi was booked under Sections 103(1) and 238 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The case has sent shockwaves through the local community, with many left grappling with the horrifying actions of a seemingly well-educated and successful individual. Further investigations are ongoing.
