Bollywood star Vicky Kaushal’s much-anticipated historical drama Chhaava has taken the box office by storm, grossing an impressive Rs. 72.4 crores within just two days of its release. The film, directed by Laxman Utekar, hit the theaters on February 14 and has already made a significant impact, setting new records for the actor.
As per the makers, the film had an extraordinary opening day, earning Rs. 33.10 crores. The momentum continued on day two, with the film raking in Rs. 39.3 crores, further propelling its box office success. Notably, these figures represent the highest opening of Vicky Kaushal’s career, surpassing his previous box-office achievements. Experts believe the film is well on its way to crossing the coveted 100-crore mark by the end of the weekend, making it a major hit in the ongoing box office race.

Chhaava traces the remarkable life of Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, exploring his bravery, sacrifices, and historical significance. Vicky Kaushal plays the iconic role of Sambhaji Maharaj, delivering a powerful performance that resonates with audiences. The film also stars Akshay Khanna as the ruthless Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, adding another layer of intrigue to the historical narrative. Rashmika Mandanna plays Yesubhai Bhonsale, further enhancing the ensemble cast. The historical epic is produced by Dinesh Vijan under the banner of Maddock Films.
Despite Chhaava’s strong opening, the film faces stiff competition at the box office from the highly anticipated international release Captain America: Brave New World, directed by Julius Onah.
