Amit Shah Emphasizes Government’s Priority to Dismantle Terror Ecosystem at J&K Security Meet

By The Sampadak Express

Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a high-level security meeting on Tuesday in which he underscored the pivotal role of paramilitary forces in ensuring a terror-free Jammu and Kashmir (J&K). The meeting, focused on reviewing the security situation in the Union Territory, brought together key figures including Union Home Secretary, Intelligence Bureau Director, and senior officers from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Border Security Force (BSF).

Shah’s address emphasized the need for the Border Security Force (BSF) to intensify its efforts to prevent infiltration from across the international border. He directed the BSF to ensure a “zero-infiltration” policy through stringent surveillance, the fortification of border grids, and leveraging advanced technologies for monitoring and border security.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the central government has reaffirmed its commitment to making Jammu and Kashmir terror-free. Shah made it clear that achieving this goal remains a top priority.

Strengthening Synergy and Operational Focus

During the meeting, Shah directed the CRPF to continue strengthening its cooperation with the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police. One of the key issues discussed was the winter action plan of the CRPF, with the minister stressing the importance of maintaining territorial control without any gaps. Special emphasis was placed on the Jammu region, particularly the need to dominate high-altitude areas, ensuring that strategic positions remain secured.

Reiterating the Importance of Technology in Counterterrorism Efforts

A significant portion of the discussion focused on improving intelligence capabilities. Shah reviewed the performance of intelligence agencies working within the region, urging them to enhance coverage and penetration for generating actionable intelligence.

The Union Home Minister highlighted the increasing importance of technology in modern intelligence gathering, stating that it would play a key role in dismantling the terror ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir. He further emphasized the monitoring of terror-financing activities and the government’s aggressive approach to tackling Narco-terrorism.

Shah made it clear that dismantling the entire terror ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir is a priority for the Modi government. He stated that strong measures are already being implemented as part of the “Zero Terror Plan” to rid the region of terrorism.

Combating Anti-National Propaganda

Another key focus of the meeting was countering the negative propaganda spread by anti-national elements. Shah directed the security agencies to ensure that the correct narrative is communicated to the public, placing emphasis on transparency and accurate reporting.

The Home Minister also stressed the importance of maintaining synergy between the various security agencies, encouraging them to adopt modern technological tools to enhance intelligence sharing and coordination. He assured the officials that the central government would continue to provide all necessary resources to support these initiatives.

Commitment to a Terror-Free J&KIn his concluding remarks, Shah reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. He stressed the need for continued vigilance and collaborative efforts between the agencies involved.

The minister’s statements come just a week after he chaired another security review meeting with Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and senior officials. During that meeting, Shah had underscored the Modi government’s efforts in dismantling the terror ecosystem in the region, emphasizing that India is making rapid progress towards achieving a terror-free Jammu and Kashmir.

As the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir continues to evolve, Shah’s call for strong action, technological advancements, and inter-agency cooperation highlights the government’s determination to combat terrorism and ensure lasting peace and stability in the region. The focus on a “Zero Terror Plan” serves as a clear message of the government’s resolve to address terrorism from all fronts—border security, intelligence, and public perception—ushering in a new phase in Jammu and Kashmir’s security landscape.
